Audio-Hungary traces its roots to the late 1940s as Rafilm National Radio-and-Film Technical Company, evolving through names like Audio Voice-and-Film Technical Co. (1951), BEAG Budapest Electroacoustic Factory (1960), and Univox Ltd. (1990) after privatization, becoming Eastern Europe's largest producer of industrial amplification and PA systems, including the 1980 Moscow Olympics sound system.¹² In 2014, physicist Laszlo Fabian acquired the Nyíregyháza plant of Univox.² The company launched its first product, the UNIVOX APX 200 tube power amp, in early 2015, blending historical expertise with modern engineering.¹² By 2025, it officially rebranded from Audio-Hungary to Qualiton.⁶
