Celestion is a British designer and manufacturer of professional loudspeakers specializing in guitar and bass speakers, compression drivers, and sound reinforcement transducers. The company holds a significant position in the pro audio market, with more than two-thirds of its business focused on low-frequency, high-frequency, and full-range PA products. Celestion is recognized as perhaps the largest branded manufacturer of compression drivers and one of the leading designers of coaxial speakers, serving both original equipment manufacturers and the retail market globally.

History

Founded in 1924, Celestion initially produced radiogram cabinets and loudspeakers under the motto 'The Very Soul of Music.' In 1953, the company merged with Rola and Truvox operations, eventually establishing Celestion as the dominant brand name by the late 1950s. During the 1960s, Celestion contributed to modern PA technology development, supplying drivers to pioneering British PA brands. In 2006, under leadership of Nigel Wood, the company exited PA systems and consumer hi-fi businesses to focus exclusively on transducers and guitar speakers, marking the beginning of its modern transformation. Celestion is now part of the Gold Peak Group, a Hong Kong-owned conglomerate.
