Giuseppe Cifonelli founded the brand in Rome in 1880, establishing the first boutique in the Italian capital. His son Arturo expanded the business internationally, opening a location in London in 1911 and establishing the Paris headquarters in 1926. Following Arturo's death in 1972, his son Adriano continued the family legacy. From 1992 to 2007, Cifonelli produced the exclusive Hermès Bespoke line in collaboration with the luxury conglomerate. The brand is currently operated by the fourth generation, Massimo and Lorenzo.
