History

Karl Ickler founded the family business in 1924 as a watch case manufactory in Pforzheim, Germany. After World War II, his sons Heinz and Kurt resumed production and expanded operations. In 1990, Ickler GmbH decided to move into private label production, and subsequently launched the Limes brand in 2000 with its debut at the Basel Watch Fair. The company is now operated by the fourth generation of the Ickler family and remains independent.

Manufacturing

All Limes watches are manufactured in-house at the Pforzheim facility in Germany. The company designs, prototypes, and produces watch cases, hand-polishes or brushes components, and performs final assembly and quality control on-site. While movements are sourced from Swiss manufacturers (primarily ETA and Sellita), they are modified before delivery, with all other components including dials, bracelets, leather straps, and crystals produced in Germany.
