Reson8
ActiveOverview
Reson8 is a Dutch speech-AI company and the speech-to-text product of Resonate Labs B.V. It provides automatic speech recognition designed for European languages and specialized terminology in fields such as healthcare, legal services, finance, automotive, and customer support. Its main technical distinction is contextual adaptation using lightweight, pluggable adapters rather than retraining large models or relying on audio samples.
The company positions itself around European data sovereignty and regulated-industry requirements. It operates its own GPU infrastructure in the Netherlands, processes audio without retaining it, and states that customer data is not used for model training. The platform supports languages including English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, and Frisian, with additional language support reported at launch.
History
Reson8 is the speech-to-text product of Resonate Labs B.V., an Amsterdam company co-founded by Thomas Kluiters and Raoul Ritter. Public sources identify the company as founded in 2023, while company profiles also show activity beginning in 2026. Reson8 raised €5 million in pre-seed funding from Balderton Capital and NP-Hard Ventures to develop European speech models, inference infrastructure, and hardware capacity. It subsequently built and operated its own GPU infrastructure in the Netherlands, with capacity reported to be growing toward nearly 150 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs.
Product Lines

Manufacturing
Reson8 does not manufacture consumer products. It develops its own speech-recognition and speech-synthesis models and owns and operates custom-configured GPU infrastructure colocated in Dutch data centers, including NorthC’s Rotterdam facility. Audio processing is performed on Reson8-operated infrastructure in the Netherlands rather than through third-party cloud subprocessors.
Notable Products
- Reson8 Speech-to-Text - Domain-adaptive automatic speech recognition that adjusts to specialized terminology from text or real-time context without requiring audio samples or conventional fine-tuning.
- Prerecorded Transcription API - REST-based transcription for prerecorded audio files, returning complete transcripts in a single response.
- Self-hosted Speech Models - Deployment option for running Reson8 speech models inside a customer’s own infrastructure, including Kubernetes environments.
Reputation
Reson8 is presented by infrastructure and industry sources as a specialized European alternative to large US speech-AI providers, particularly for regulated workloads and non-English European languages. Its reported strengths include domain-specific vocabulary handling, EU-based processing, zero audio retention, and control over its hardware and software stack. Public information remains limited because the company is early-stage, and independent customer reviews, mature pricing information, and broad comparative performance data are not readily established.
