T+A elektroakustik
ActiveOverview
T+A Elektroakustik is a German audio company founded in 1978, specializing in high-end electronics and loudspeakers manufactured in Herford. It designs products across the audio chain using engineering-focused approaches, with a team of graduate-level engineers developing innovations like active and digital speaker designs. The company maintains a strong presence in Europe and expands globally through dealers.123
History
Founded in 1978 by Siegfried Amft in Herford, Germany, who began with loudspeakers due to low initial investment after studying plasma physics and training under Dr. Fritz Sennheiser. Early success came with the Criterion transmission-line speakers introduced in 1982, which remain in production. The company expanded from speakers to full audio reproduction chain products, pioneering active and digital speaker innovations with a dedicated engineering team. Siegfried Amft continues to lead the family-owned business.123
